The board of America's Finest Charter voted unanimously on Monday to keep its high school open, drawing cheers from students and staff who had been left in suspense for more than a week. The high school has been in turmoil since a week and a half ago, when it was leaked to staff and families that leaders were planning a special meeting within three days potentially to shut it down.
The dean of culture, Dolores Medina, said she had asked human resources to place Bagby on unpaid leave pending an investigation into his behavior but had gotten a response only from Roosevelt Blackmon, the board's new interim president. 'The lack of investigation and attention on this matter is concerning, because Mr. Bagby's actions did not only negatively impact me but also negatively impacted and affected our staff and students,' Medina said.
