New York State Attorney General Letitia James released a statement this week condemning the antisemitic rhetoric displayed at Columbia University, yet said she plans to remain on as a faculty member.
According to her faculty bio, James has been in the role since 2021. Her salary in 2023 was $15,000 for the part-time assignment with plans to teach in 2024 with an increased compensation of $20,000, the Post reported. Tensions have boiled over on several college campuses with protestors demanding that schools divest from companies they allege “profit from Israeli apartheid, genocide and occupation in Palestine.”
“We know the dire consequences of failing to stand tall in the face of hate, and this moment must be a clarion call to respond to those who seek to spark the flames of division,” James’ statement concluded.
