HULU LANGAT: The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department is expanding its Fire Brigade programme to include students from private institutions of higher learning to empower the citizen life-saver community.
"We aim to expand this program within the next two years, and many private IHLs are expected join the Fire Brigade," he told Bernama after the Fire Brigade accreditation ceremony at Saito University College today. Norazam highlighted that students enrolled in the Fire Brigade programme will undergo a dedicated one-year training by JBPM, aimed at equipping them with essential firefighting skills, covering initial emergency response protocols and hands-on field exercises alongside firefighters."The knowledge they acquire can be applied in daily life and shared with family members as well in emergency situations, especially fire and rescue processes.
