"To give an idea of the scale of these rocks, this photo was taken from 40km away. They are massive!" — Bill Millar
We couldn't write an article about national parks without including the Northern Territory's Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. The Anangu people are the traditional owners of the land; the national park and its surrounds are a sacred and culturally significant site., but there is far more to this national park than meets the eye.You can take the entire 10-kilometre Uluru base walk or just concentrate on one or more of its sections, depending on how much time you have, your level of fitness and the weather.
A shorter and easier route is the Liru walk, particularly following rains when the area comes alive with wildflowers. The park boasts two galleries — Maruku Arts and Walkatjara Art — that both showcase Anangu art and crafts at the visitor's centre.
