The Sudbury Restorative Justice Program is launching a new initiative meant to offer education, support and guidance for families navigating the justice system

Designed to address the unique legal challenges faced by youth and their families, Sudbury District Restorative Justice is launching a new initiative called the Legal Navigation program. The program aims to provide comprehensive support, education and guidance for youth and their families as they try to navigate the justice system.

"So often youth and families become bewildered with the legal system,” said Jackie Balleny, executive director. “Navigating access, rules and procedures, deciphering paperwork, and understanding their rights and responsibilities can be overwhelming. Sometimes these overwhelming challenges can result in further conflict. Our Legal Navigation Program has a multi-faceted design to provide personalized service as well as opportunity for independent learning to self-navigate.
