Last year’s version of the bill charged parents with a Class C felony, but this year, it’s been modified to a Class A misdemeanor. Rep. Drummond says the bills not about infringing on 2nd amendment rights but ensuring guns are properly stored.

“I was here in Montgomery when the shooting happened at Leflore High School and my heart dropped,” said Rep. Drummond.
