On Wednesday, 1,300 students from 24 schools in low-income neighborhoods attended a matinee performance ofwith their teachers, as part of an education program inspired by the musical that tells the story of Founding Father and the nation’s first treasury secretary, Alexander Hamilton.
The Hamilton-inspired curriculum was created in 2015 after a $1.4 million donation from the Rockefeller Foundation to the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, a nonprofit organization founded in 1914 that focuses on K-12 education and history.
