JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng police confirmed on Thursday that a 40-year-old woman was arrested and appeared in court for allegedly assaulting a child at a Carletonville crèche.In two of the videos, the woman was seen shouting at children for vomiting in class and then made them clean it up. In a third video, she was seen roughly pushing a crying little girl onto a mat, and telling her to go to sleep.Police spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters said the woman appeared in court on 28 March and was released on bail. She was due to return to court on 7 May.
"Management of police have, condemned in the harshest terms possible, both the incident as well as the continued irresponsible circulation of the video clips on social media platforms," she said.
