A video of the KL accident has gone viral on social media.

A traffic policeman was injured after being hit by a car while controlling traffic at Jalan Raja Laut on April 2.

Magistrate M Saravanan meted out the punishment to Tan Wooi Zhan, 25, after he pleaded guilty to the charge read out to him. He was charged under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987, which carries a maximum penalty of five years’ jail and a RM15,000 fine, as well as suspension of the driving licence, upon conviction.

Tan, who was not represented, appealed for leniency. He said he regretted his action and promised not to repeat the same mistake.
