Le’Anna Felix’s daughter De’Anna admits that she was acting out during the lunch hour at her west-end Toronto school.
“I was devastated,” she recalled. “I couldn’t believe, first of all, I got that phone call and why didn’t the school call me if they couldn’t control her? I’m just across the street.” The school board spokesperson also said the storage room, which was attached to a classroom, measured 3.5 metres by 2 metres and held toys.Toronto police confirmed they opened an investigation into the allegations, but they haven’t had a chance to speak with De’Anna or any other witnesses yet.
This is outrageous!
The story says “lunch room supervisor”. Do we know it was a teacher? Or was it a parent lunch room supervisor?
That same thing happened to me when I was 5 years old & I still recall it. That was in 1956. The teacher involved in this current event might be okay with a guy like Doug Ford...but to the rest us..it's 2019 & that teacher should be investigated.
The teacher should be fired! Anyone that has a desire to lock a child in a closet, especially by a teacher, has greater underlined issues which should be investigated by authorities and the tdsb TorontoPolice
I think the lunchroom supervisor should be on a 6 month time out ( LOCKED UP IN JAIL! ) See how they like it, he missed behaved! Ford Gov. wants to cut teacher's jobs? Hell NO ! Hey Mom, sue the backside off that school board that mental abuse!
I think this opens the conversation about appropriate consequence(s). Let’s get all our education partners on the same page.
