Sanford has served as head coach of the Wolves since the consolidation of the former Dothan High and Northview High School in 2019.

Dothan City Schools announced on Monday that Alex Sanford has resigned from his role he has served in since the 2019 consolidation.DOTHAN, Ala. - Dothan High School head baseball coach Alex Sanford resigned from his role on Monday, according to a statement released by Dothan City Schools Athletic Director Jessica Noble.

Sanford has served as head coach of the Wolves since the consolidation of the former Dothan High and Northview High School in 2019, serving as the head coach of the Cougars in their final two years of existence prior to taking over the combined program, and before that three years as a Northview assistant.

“Coach Sanford has had a positive impact on both the baseball program and the young men he has coached throughout his tenure as a head coach,” Noble said. “We wish Coach Sanford the best of luck in his future endeavors.” Noble went on to say DCS’ athletic department will make no further comment at this time regarding Sanford’s departure, and that the search for a new head baseball coach will begin immediately.and receive the latest local news and weather straight to your email every morning.
