The 17-year-old who died after the accident was a Temasek Junior College (TJC) student.

Footage of the accident's aftermath circulating on social media shows several damaged vehicles at a busy junction with debris strewn between them. One of the vehicles is upside down. SINGAPORE: Two people died after an accident involving several vehicles at the junction of Tampines Avenue 1 and Tampines Avenue 4 on Monday morning .

"The school has been in touch with the family of the student and will render additional support to students and staff who may be affected by this incident during this difficult period." Six other people were taken to hospital, including a 42-year-old car driver who is assisting with police investigations.

"A 42-year-old female car driver and a 39-year-old male van passenger later sought medical attention at the hospital on their own," SPF said. Debris is seen at the junction of Tampines Avenue 1 and Tampines Avenue 4 on Apr 22, 2024, following an accident.
