A primary school teacher who was sacked for teaching children TikTok dances lost her unfair dismissal claim at an employment tribunal. Georgia Rogers was fired from her job after bosses at West Grantham Church of England Primary Academy in Grantham found she breached the Teachers' Standards and safeguarding provisions.
Ms Rogers maintained contact with the year five pupil and her mum over the summer. She sent the pupil a picture of her nails and the pupil sent pictures of her after having her hair and make-up done and from a day trip to Skegness with her granddad. A parent of another pupil raised concerns that Ms Rogers was "overly familiar" with the students, had shared "detailed and distressing" information with her daughter about her ectopic pregnancy, and had asked the children to keep secrets. The parent noted there were 'a number of small things which put together make a bigger concerning picture'.
