The traffic has been branded a 'nightmare' in the mornings and afternoons

Locals in Holt Park have criticised parents for causing a 'bloody nuisance' in the mornings and afternoons. There have been calls for parents to make children walk to school to circumvent the traffic congestion.

Retired plumber and great-grandad John Allen, 77, said: "On the morning it’s absolute chaos, you get trouble with kids going to school in the morning. You can’t park anywhere."You can’t move for it in the mornings, it’s like that everyday. I keep my cool, you have to. It’s a nightmare, the traffic is absolute chaos. These parents try to get as close to the school as they can, you can’t get past them. It’s a bloody nuisance. The kids won’t walk.

A spokesperson for Ralph Thoresby School said: "As a school we are committed to working with parents, local residents, the community and Leeds City Council to address any issues which may arise.
