Tonight Maxie Johnson is gathering families at the New Morning Star Baptist Church in West Dallas, where he is a pastor, to discuss the shooting, potential solutions to gun violence and the state’s role in safety measures.The meeting, which begins at 7 p.m., comes the day after students walked out of class in protest to demand safer schools.
Elizalde called the shooting “unacceptable and unimaginable” and said she refuses to normalize the incident.
