“There’s no turning back now,” she joked before a rehearsal on April 7. “Obviously, I can’t play Anne as a blonde or a brunette.”'Anne of Green Gables – The Musical' back for 2024, along with 'Jersey Boys'

“Anne has always been on my radar,” said artistic director Hal Jessome, who recalled seeing Anne of Green Gables as a kid. “And it’s just such a good story. There’s not enough feel-good stories anymore.” While The Sound of Music sold-out in 2023, some of the sellouts occurred the day of the performance. Jessome acknowledged Anne of Green Gables attracted people to the school. The novel, which has been turned into a musical, movies and TV series, has been captivating readers for more than a century.

“Even at auditions … I felt myself shaking the whole time,” she recalled. “Throughout the year, when I started getting more comfortable with the cast, when I started getting more comfortable on stage, I suppose I blossomed.”
