Reese Witherspoon plays Elle Woods in the 2001 hit Legally Blonde.

Reflecting on the legacy of the 2001 film, the now 48-year-old told People magazine that her character Elle Woods has inspired a generation of young people to pursue law.

These days, Reese is best known for starring in the AppleTV+ series The Morning Show, as well as her work behind the camera as a producer. Last week, it was reported that Reese is creating a television series inspired by the wildly popular Legally Blonde films.The series is reportedly now in development at Amazon MGM Studios.

The original 2001 film, Legally Blonde, starred Reese as Elle Woods, a former sorority girl who enrolls in Harvard Law School to get back together with her ex-boyfriend.
