A group of protesters launched fireworks and Molotov cocktails at the government headquarters in the state of Guerrero, causing damage to the building and setting several vehicles on fire. The incident occurred in the city of Chilpancingo, the capital of Guerrero, where violent protests have been taking place in recent weeks in response to the murder of a student from the Ayotzinapa Rural Normal School. The student, Yanqui Gómez, was shot by police at a street checkpoint on March 7. The death of Yanqui Gómez has sparked a political crisis in Guerrero, leading to the resignation of the Secretary of Government, the Secretary of Security, and the state prosecutor.
