Hundreds of people gathered at Auburn University at Montgomery to watch the solar eclipse, despite Alabama not being in the path of totality. The event offered prime viewing with about 80% of the sun covered. Associate Professor Randy Russell helped answer questions and provided safety glasses.

Alabama was not be in the path of totality for the 2024 solar eclipse, with about 80% of the sun covered at around 2PM, but it still offered prime viewing.
