The 2016 draft pick is going back to the Univeristy of Michigan, the Canucks confirmed Saturday.
Because he’s a college player, Canucks will have his rights until Aug. 15, 2020; if they don’t sign him, he’ll become a free agent. Lockwood had a solid third season with Michigan Wolverines, scoring 16 goals and adding 15 assists in 36 games. This was especially good to see as he missed the second half of his sophomore season after sustaining a shoulder injury at the 2018 World Junior Championship while playing for Team USA.
Schenn to re-sign?Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Saturday on Hockey Night in Canada that the Canucks and defenceman Luke Schenn are talking about a contract for the 2019-20 season.Since being acquired in a trade for Michael Del Zotto in January, Schenn has played 14 games for the Canucks . He’s provided solid work on the third pairing.
