Executive Chairman, of the State UBEC, Yakubu Agbaizo while inspecting the furniture at Jolly Nyame Stadium, Jalingo disclosed that the furniture were purchased at the cost of N72 million through a counterpart fund paid by the state government.
He said “The furniture are meant to make learning eseier for children. It’s sad to see children sitting on the floor to learn. “If a child is used to sitting on a stone at home, he or she should not sit on the same stone or bare floor while in school. Such a child will not be encouraged to learn if the environment is not conducive.
“These materials are supposed to last for at least 10 years, so the benefiting schools should make good use of the furniture for the good of the school pupils,” he said.
