Coroner says death of Bath University student Alex Green was ‘contributed to by neglect’ by hospital staff

A university student died after doctors failed to spot a head injury he sustained during a night out to celebrate his birthday because they assumed his condition was due to excessive drink, a coroner has found.

(+) Even if he was drunk, why would it be any reason to deny treatment or neglect proper care?

My father had an allergic reaction to aspirin and started suffocating. When mother arrived at the hospital they started making fun of him as if he was drunk and refused treatment. It was only when she stated she was a doctor that they took things seriously. Question is (+)

Diagnosis without corroborative evidence is just an opinion.

This is why we cannot seriously contemplate refusing A&E treatment to people who are drunk. Some medical conditions can resemble being drunk when not examined properly.
