Hundreds of kids of all ages were at Gilliard Elementary School for an family-friendly event hosted by District 3 Mobile City Councilman C.J. Small. The event had bounce houses, rides, a live DJ, food, drinks and, of course, the fan-favorite Easter egg hunt.
Small told FOX10 News that he wasn’t surprised at the big turnout the event receives every year but is happy to see member of the community coming together and enjoying themselves. “The community to come together to have fun. People haven’t seen each other in a while and to sit down and eat, enjoy each other,” said Small, council president. “The kids, you know, enjoying themselves out on the playground, finding their eggs, playing with different characters and everything. So, it’s like a family environment but I would say it’s a community-family environment.”
This was the 12th year the event has been held. It was also co-sponsored by the Drug Education Council, Franklin Primary Health Center, the Mobile Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and Royal XXV.Decrying ‘worst DUI-related homicide’ he’s seen, judge sentences Theodore man to life
