Parents angry over lack of answers from South Carolina school board after 5th-grader dies following classroom fight: 'It makes no sense'

"She was actively involved in her church as a junior usher," the district said. "She will be missed greatly by her family, friends and the entire school community."The other student involved in the altercation was suspended from school "until the investigation is complete," the school district said.. We are deeply saddened. ... Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with this family in the difficult days ahead," the district said in a news release.

Lowes said police were still investigating the incident and that an autopsy for the victim was scheduled for Friday morning.

That would at a minimum be manslaughter. What's up? Anyone charged?

Where were teachers?

How could this have possibly happened I pray for her and her famiy.

Teachers are not allowed to place their hands on a child. I’ve seen entire classrooms trashed during students outbursts. They make the rest of the class leave while the troubled child works out their issues.

This is the worse thing imagined for parents.What is this school board hiding? Each member of the board and all adults in that classroom as well as the State board of education deserve a lawsuit for such a coverup.The parents of all children involved deserve the truth.Traumatic

What could make these kids so angry at school. Teachers try to do their best but sometimes I guess kids take matters into their own hands!! This is so sad!

at the school board meeting: “ahw ... just some black kid ... probably deserved it - who knows ... would have been a criminal later anyway”

If you spend any time at all watching their behavior, it makes perfect sense.
