A plea deal is on the cards for a former Gqeberha teacher accused of killing his ex-wife and dumping her body in a stormwater drain not far from their home.
Johnny Baartman, who walked into the dock of the Gqeberha Magistrate's Court on Wednesday with a confident demeanour, allegedly killed Desiree Baartman, the mother of his two children with whom he still shared a house, in June 2023.
