He had 'everything one could wish for'

This high-performing pupil at a well-respected West Bridgford school was found to have more than £16,000 of drug money in cash boxes at his Gotham home. Nottingham Crown Court heard how Kya OIdham “had everything one could wish for” but turned to selling cannabis to fund his addiction at the age of 16.

“He went to the Becket School, near West Bridgford, and had everything one could wish for. He was a high-performing student and who, at home, conducted himself well. Lucy Jones, prosecuting, said the police stopped Oldham in Maid Marian Way, Nottingham city centre, on July 5, 2022. She said a search of him found £330 of cannabis, digital scales and a mobile phone.

Oldham, of Gilbert Avenue, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cannabis, supply of cannabis and possession of criminal property. Recorder Adrian Reynolds handed the defendant a two-year community order with 10 rehabilitation sessions and 150 hours unpaid work.
