AVON LAKE, Ohio - With the school bus driver shortage continuing across the country, NEO school districts such as Avon Lake are actively recruiting drivers and substitute drivers.
Avon Lake City Schools says they are taking a “hands-on” approach to recruiting drivers by offering potential candidates the opportunity to test drive a bus. On April 20, interested drivers aged 21 years or older can sign up to test drive a bus in a controlled setting at the Avon Lake City Schools’ bus garage.The event will take place at the district’s bus garage, located at 33480 Pin Oak Parkway, from 9 a.m. to noon.
