The Nation Newspaper Alumni launches N1b endowment fund for school’s rehabilitation

Former students decried the school’s dilapidated condition. They said the school, founded by Baptist High Mission in 1956, has lost its glory.National President, Ifelola Oyebade, said the funds would be used to revamp school to meet aspirations of the founding fathers.

He said: “The situation on ground is appalling. The takeover of the school in 1976 has not helped matters. The classrooms we did years ago are still standing but the ones done by the government are bad.” Chairman of Abuja Branch Joseph Okunato, appealed to the old students to contribute to upgrading of the facilities.

“It is not only the school facilities that we are concerned about, but the quality of people being raised. We are trying to rebuild the dilapidated buildings. What we are doing today will add to lives of children yet unborn.” Exposed!!
