A Hertfordshire primary school has been named among the top one per cent in the country for achievement in reading, writing and mathematics.

At Trotts Hill, in Stevenage, the latest key stage two assessment results show 93 per cent of pupils reach or exceed the expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics.They have also been awarded the OPAL Platinum Award after a transformation of their outdoor environment and playtimes. The OPAL auditors who visited the school commented:"Trotts Hill is a brilliant OPAL school with so many exciting spaces that offer endless play opportunities to children of all ages, genders, ethnicities, abilities and disabilities.A wide range of play activities are on offer for children at Trotts Hill."The way that play has been embedded across the school will ensure that children benefit from their improved play opportunities for years to come.
