PUTRAJAYA: The education ministry is considering blacklisting contractors who mistreat their employees so that they will not get contracts, minister Maszlee Malik said.
He said the ministry would review policies and contract procedures to ensure such contractors were penalised. He said this in a statement after chairing a meeting with the Government Contract Workers Network today to discuss the issues faced by cleaners and security guards at schools. Maszlee said the ministry would also forward the suggestions by GCWN to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the Public Service Department.
