A special visitor came to Lancaster schools and also sat down for a one-on-one interview at WGAL.U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona toured Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology and visited an elementary school.He promoted the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program passed by Congress in 2007 but expanded by the Biden administration. He met with educators who benefitted from it.

What I'm not in agreement with is using public education dollars to fund vouchers for private schools. That, to me, further separates the haves and the have nots,' he said.News 8's Barbara Barr also asked him if parents should have a say in what books are in school libraries and what teachers are teaching.'Absolutely,' he said. 'When I was a fourth grade teacher, when I was a principal, the voice of parents was really important to me.
