Canandaigua, N.Y. (WHAM) The community is safer now that Alexander Kise is behind bars, according to Ontario County Assistant District Attorney Victoria Porter.

by Jackie NapierAlexander Kise, 21, of Canandaigua, was convicted Friday, March 15, 2024, of rape and other charges following a June 2022 incident involving an 18-year-old female victim.

Kise, now 21, of Canandaigua, not only held a high school student captive in June 2022, according to Porter, but he also threated the DA's office and attempted to flea the area. A warrant had to be issued for his arrest when he failed to show up for the verdict announcement.Porter said the 18-year-old victim feared for her life after Kise, who she met on social media, threatened to kill her and hurt her family.

That's when Kise raped, strangled and beat the victim over two days while holding her captive inside his apartment, according to Porter. The injuries were so bad, the victim begged to be brought to the hospital. Kise eventually agreed, under the condition that his grandmother accompany her. Kise waited in the parking lot and brandished a knife before his grandmother and the victim went inside the hospital, according to Porter.
