The Friends of Sam Houston High School Scholarship Committee is sponsoring its annual community scholarship breakfast on Saturday to benefit seniors bound for college. The event will take place at 9 a.m. at Second Baptist Church Community Center, 3310 East Commerce St. Tickets for an individual guest are $35, and each table is $350. Jazz violinist and recording artist Michael Ward, a graduate of Sam Houston High School’s class of 1983, is the keynote speaker.
