The Texas State Texas School Safety Center released a briefing on the Eclipse's impact on Texas education.

SAN ANTONIO - Texas State released a briefing on Situational Awareness for the solar eclipse and how it could impact school districts. On April 8, Texas will see nearly four minutes of total darkness as the total solar eclipse moves across the United States. The briefing discusses the eclipse in great length, complete with its significance, some safe ways to watch the eclipse, and the impacts the eclipse made on traffic and communities where the view was determined to be the best. The briefing outlined the impacts on travel times from high tourist traffic, with the potential for bus routes in more rural areas to be impacted.

Other aspects discussed were limits to EMS services, potential overloading of cell phone towers, fuel shortages, and limited ability to resupply small towns. This all comes in handy with the increased need for parking and lodging typical of major events. These concerns are not without precedent, as many rural communities were hit with an onslaught of tourism for the Great American Eclipse in 2017 and saw these exact issues to some capacity.
