Sandy Hook dad kills himself days after two Parkland survivors 'die by suicide'

A father whose daughter was killed in the Sandy Hook elementary school massacre has died in an apparent suicide, police said.

Jeremy Richman, 49, was found dead in his office in Edmond Town Hall in Newtown, Connecticut Monday morning. His case is considered to be the third possible suicide in the past week related to mass school shootings. Richman’s six-year-old daughter, Avielle, was one of 20 children and six adults killed by gunman Adam Lanza when he burst into the Connecticut school in December 2012.Avielle Richman, 6, was killed in the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in December 2012.

His death comes in the wake of two reported suicides by survivors of the Valentine’s Day 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida Sydney Aiello, 19, who graduated from the school in Parkland, Florida last year died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head on March 17, according to authorities.
