Members of the Non-Academic Staff Union, NASU, and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, University of Ilorin branch, will comply fully with the 7-day warning strike declared by their national bodies which begins today, Monday.

Comrades Ibrahim Zubar, and Falowo Olushola Naheem, Chairmen of NASU and SSANU, respectively, of the two unions in the university, said this in a separate chat with

in Ilorin on Sunday. The warning strike, according to Comrade Falowo, is to force the Federal government to meet some unfulfilled demands of the unions. The demands include regotiation of 2009 FGN/NASU/SSANU agreement, reconstitution of governing councils, payment of four months withheld salaries, release of earned allowances and improved funding of public universities. 'The expectations from our members are simple, stay away from duty for seven days.
