A former Utah State University defensive analyst has been arrested on a Nashville grand jury indictment charging him with two counts of first-degree murder for the poisoning deaths of his girlfriend and her unborn child, authorities said. According to a statement from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, Blaise A. Taylor, 27, was arrested in Utah by Deputy United States Marshals on Wednesday.
The indictment alleges that Taylor poisoned his girlfriend, Jade Benning, 25, while visiting her Nashville apartment on Feb. 25, 2023. Taylor called 911 at 9:38 p.m. that day reporting that Benning appeared to be having an allergic reaction and requesting paramedics. Benning later died at the hospital, and her five-month-old fetus died two days later, police reported
