Nigeria finished in second position in the weightlifting event at the African Games 2023. The country's lifters won a total of 32 medals. Nigerian lifters won 16 gold, 10 silver and 6 bronze medals to come second behind leading country Egypt. Egypt, who continued her dominance in the sport, had a total of 24 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals. All 12 Nigerian lifters won medals, with the exception of Morufat Folarin, who was injured on Day 1 of the competition and could not continue.
The African Games weightlifting event, which began on Saturday, March 9th, was rounded off on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the University of Ghana, Legon.
