The boy was found unresponsive after his parents tried to wake him for school An eight-year-old boy has died after eating strawberries at a school fundraiser. The boy was found unresponsive in his home on Friday, with his parents telling police he ‘had eaten several strawberries from a high school fundraiser the night before’ at Madisonville North Hopkins High School in Kentucky. They said they gave him benadryl after he began experiencing symptoms and soaked him in a bath.

He was found unresponsive when he parents tried to wake him up for school on Friday morning. The Hopkins County Health Department said a preliminary autopsy report ruled that it was an ‘isolated allergic reaction’, reports FOX News. Denise Beach, the Director for the Hopkins County Health Department, said: ‘Dr. Christopher Kiefer, Medical Examiner, said the incident involving strawberries looks like an isolated allergic reaction.
