Students have occupied university buildings around the country as part of pro-Palestine protests organised by the 'extremist' Socialist Workers Party.
Politicians and Jewish charities condemned student unions for allowing the SWP to form official societies. On Thursday student protesters linked to the Leeds SWSS swarmed the university's landmark Parkinson Building chanting 'Israel is a terror state' and 'ceasefire now'. Advertisement A University of Leeds spokesman said: 'Whilst we respect the right to free speech, we are working to minimise disruption for building users and to conclude the occupation.'
Following claims that an Israeli baby was found burned alive in an oven after the October 7 terror attacks, Mr Alareer tweeted: 'With or without baking powder.'A spokesman for the Community Security Trust, a charity that protects Jews in the UK, said: 'The SWP is an extremist organisation with a history of anti-Semitism and students' unions should not have anything to do with them.
This means that SWSS events can be held on campus and they can advertise themselves at student fairs.
