Princess Diana's brother says he was sexually abused while at boarding school

Earl Spencer, brother to the late Diana, Princess of Wales, has opened up about his childhood trauma in his latest memoir. He admitted that he was sexually abused by a female staff member at boarding school during his younger years.

The Earl narrates cases of sexual abuse and physical assault at 11 years old by an assistant matron at the school which left a lasting impact on him. He even inflicted self-harm over the thought of her leaving the institution. "Her control over mesmerised boys was total, for we were starved of feminine warmth and desperate for attention and affection."

"I believe now that I was simply completing the process set in motion by the assistant matron's perverted attention."
