More screen time led to less parent-child interaction, meaning children were learning fewer adult words per day.

The observational study, led by Telethon Kids Institute Senior Research Officer Mary Brushe, found the average three-year-old could miss out on 1100 adult words, 840 vocalisations and 194 conversations per day from spending time on screens.
