The Cleveland Metropolitan School District on Friday announced it will be closing all schools on April 8 for the total solar eclipse.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -

“This truly is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and we are fortunate to be in the middle of the action,” a CMSD spokesperson said. With totality expected to hit Cleveland at 3:13 p.m., the district says dismissal times would be complicated, along with heavy traffic congestion and cellular and internet service issues.

The district will also be handing out a free pair of eclipse glasses for every student, a press release says.Over 93k pounds of raw meat sent to multiple states including Ohio recalledChild found safe in Strongsville following AMBER Alert, NE Ohio school employee in custody: Police
