The students in the Davidson High School Choir may still be taking bows right now, after sharing the stage with legendary rockers, Foreigner. FOX 10′s Lee Peck was at the Saenger for the Farewell Tour Wednesday night as the students sang backup during the encore performance.

“We’ve got a really good group of students here and they all know what they are doing -- so we pulled it together really quickly,” explained Justin Ortmann, Davidson High School Choir Director. “Of course the first thing that goes -- in any school budget is the arts -- so trying to help the music programs at these schools -- it’s a big goal of ours. So that’s worked out amazing -- plus you get these great kids coming up there -- they get the look of showbiz in their eyes. I think it’s a win-win all the way around,” said Pilson.

“For us it’s kind of a nice reassurance that we’re doing the right thing and that our music means something to a lot of people,” said Pilson. “And for the students -- more than that -- I just hope they have a great experience because music should be fun -- it should be entertaining -- but it should be communicative -- and I think they kind of learn that in this process.”
