Sat, February 17th 2024 at 9:20 AMThe Lower Paxton Township Police Department has issued an update after a gun was found in a student's backpack at Central Dauphin East High School.
According to police, a 17-year-old boy has been charged with possession of a weapon on school property, receiving stolen property, firearms not to be carried without a license, and possession of a firearm by a minor.The backpack and the handgun have since been recovered. It was found that the firearm had been stolen from Lower Paxton Township in the summer of 2023.
The 17-year-old was arrested Friday evening, and will remain in custody until the date of his hearing.The investigation is still ongoing. If a student has information that has not already been reported, they can contact a School Police Officer or speak with a teacher about speaking to School Police.
