Former Malaysian Prime Minister, Dato Seri Ismail Sabri, has decided to return to his life as a university student and pursue a PhD at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). He shared his student card and expressed his excitement about being a student again at his age. He also revealed the topic of his thesis, which focuses on the formation of a response policy model to face the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia.

Learning is a lifelong process that does not only take place in school or on campus. Making mistakes and learning from the experience is also a learning process that everyone is bound to go through. At a retirement age, it’s rare for someone to continue learning as a student. Former Malaysian Prime Minister, Dato Seri Ismail Sabri however, defied the odds and decided to return to his life as a university student.

In his Facebook post last night (February 15), Ismail revealed that he is now officially a student again as he pursues his studies for a PhD in Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). The 9th PM of Malaysia, who is 64 this year shared the student card he had obtained and expressed what it feels like to, once again, be a student at his current age. “Who knew I could still be a student when I’m old? This is what we call a lifelong learning.” Sabri has not revealed the course or program that he is currently taking.
