“Beautiful Sydney with such a bright future was taken from us way too soon,” Meadow’s brother, Hunter Pollack, wrote on Twitter. “It was completely devastating to bury another beautiful young person in Parkland today. Our community is going through tragedy again.” “Cara said Sydney struggled to attend college classes because she was afraid of being in a classroom and was often sad recently but never asked for help before she killed herself,” the station wrote.

The contrast between her country and New Zealand is stark. We psychologically batter victims; New Zealand and other sane nations seek ways to heal them.

This is so very heartbreaking. I lost my daughter in 2002 to suicide. PTSD is a killer. Prayers for her family. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
When will we accountable for what we have done to an entire generation of children school shootings then those that survive the pressure without getting shot at go on to massive debt delaying homes and families. And we wonder why they are depressed. Shame on us.

I am so sad for Sydney and her family - Sydney and her classmates deserve so much honor, respect and love for surviving that horrendous shooting at Marjory Stoneman and for standing up to gun violence - they all should know that they are better than the rest and hold their heads
