In announcing the suspension of his campaign, Scott made clear that his political career is far from over, and he still has high aspirations. The news came on Fox News's Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy. "If you ever want to love your country more, run for president. Traveling this country, meeting people has been one of the most fantastic experiences of my entire life. I love America more today than I did on May 22nd," Scott said.

"I think the voters, who are the most remarkable people on the planet, have been really clear that they're telling me, 'not now Tim,'" he continued. Scott clarified that he thinks the time for him to run for president may come one day, but that day is not today.— The Post Millennial November 13, 2023

Scott's exit from the race comes after he was one of five candidates to qualify for the third GOP debate. Despite this qualification, the senator has seen low poll numbers in the race. A FiveThirtyEight poll from Nov. 10 had Scott sitting at just over 2% support in the GOP primary. That seated him in a distant sixth place in the field. Former President Donald Trump remained dominant in the poll with 56% support, and he was followed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis , who was in second place with 14% support.Scott's campaign said he would not endorse anyone in the race yet.
