The first round of the 2023 AHSAA high school football playoffs will have an unusually heavy amount of Thursday games.
Currently, 34 of the 104 Round 1 games are scheduled for Thursday – many due to the Veterans Day Holiday. Some have altered the schedule due to a threat of rain in some parts of the state on Friday.Among the teams set to play on Thursday are four-time reigning Class 7A champ Thompson and last year’s Class 6A runner-up, Mountain Brook.Here is the current playoff schedule for this week, but obviously it is subject to more changes.Auburn at Baker Hoover at James Clemens Vestavia Hills at Austin St.
