The deceased, it was gathered was killed while trying to open his shop for the day at about 8a.m., when three gunmen suddenly opened fire on him.on condition of anonymity, said the gunmen who came on a motorcycle moved towards the Oluku end of the Ugbowo-Lagos Road axis unchallenged as residents in the area fled after they heard several gunshots fired by the assailants during the attack.
Security operatives from the Ugbowo and Ekiadolor Police Divisions immediately were reported to have stormed the scene to track down the culprits but to no avail.In a related development, another victim, a 23-year-old National Diploma student of Department of Accounting, Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, in the state has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Auchi.
The deceased, identified as Emmanuel Aronokhale, who hail from Okpella in Estako East Local Government Area of the state, was reportedly killed at about 8p.m. last night in his Auchi residence at Second Bawak, Sabo.The deceased was said to be relaxing in front of the hostel with his fellow students, when he was attacked by the gun men who ordered everyone into their various rooms where they were successfully robbed of their money and mobile phones.
When contacted on phone over the incident, Edo Police spokesman, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, said he was yet to be briefed on both killings in the state.
